Nicholas D. Chabraja
Nicholas (Nick) Chabraja previously was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Dynamics from 1997 to 2009. He served as Non-Executive Chairman of General Dynamics from 2009 to May 2010. Nick was the key decision maker directly responsible for the capital allocation, acquisition strategy and transaction execution that drove the Company’s growth in revenues from approximately $4.0 billion in 1996 to $32.0 billion in 2009. During Nick’s tenure, General Dynamics’ market capitalization expanded to more than 500% from $4.7 billion to $29.2 billion and total shareholders returns grew in excess of 350%.
Nick also served as an Executive Vice President and Vice-Chairman at General Dynamics from 1994 to December 1996 and as a Senior Vice President and General Counsel from 1993 to 1994. Nick is currently a member of the General Dynamics Board of Directors.
Prior to General Dynamics, Nick was a senior partner at Jenner & Block, LLP. Early in his legal career, Mr. Chabraja served as special counsel to the United States House of Representatives during the Senate impeachment trial of Judge Harry E. Claiburne.
Nick is currently the Chairman of Tower International and a Director of Northern Trust Corporation . He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University. Previously, Nick was a Director of Ceridian Corporation from 2001 to 2007. He was previously a Trustee of DePauw University. Nick also served as a Member of the Board of Governors of Aerospace Industries Association until January 2010.
Nick received a law degree and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.
